The Role Of A Prenatal Educator

Stress Free Pregnancy

The prenatal educator has the role of supporting and inspiring the family and also the whole society in what is the moment of gestation and the importance of it for humanity as a whole.

The prenatal educator helps women and families understand that pregnant women are the real educators of humanity. A woman has received from nature the power to create and inspire the new coming generation from her own self, from who she is, from her thoughts and emotions, from her inner life and the perception she has of her outside life, forming the body and the psyche of the new being that will be born.

The prenatal educator aims to create awareness, give information and transform the way women and families perceive the moment of conception, pregnancy and motherhood, believing that in this way we can change the world if we change the way we bring new human beings into this world, to disseminate information about the importance of prenatal life for the integral development of the human being and a more fraternal society.

Science already proves what the ancient wisdom of various traditions has known in the past, that the moments of conception, pregnancy and birth and crucial for the development of the baby’s human qualities and future behaviors. At conception, genetic programs from each parent’s DNA are duly transmitted to the child’s first cell. But science of epigenetics reveals that during pregnancy, these programs are activated or not, or even modified, according to the quality of what the pregnant mother lives, as well as the quality of her surroundings. When a woman is pregnant, her sensitivity increases and her experience becomes information that organizes the babys’ development and gets recorded in every cell.

Today we see a great automation of the process of being born, often to the detriment of the subjective and subtle aspects of the human being, which set it apart from the rest of creation. Due to the considerable savings generated by preventive health care and preventive education, this information about the utmost relevance of prenatal life for the future of each and every human being is encompassed in the green growth approach of development.

It is important to reach prospective parents to this knowledge, to be mindful about their roles and encouraging them to provide the best conditions to their baby from the very start of his or her development, balancing the mother’s physical, psychological and spiritual life, transmitting wellbeing to the baby inside the mother’s belly. We now understand that the responsibility of a mother extends beyond her physiological hygiene (to refrain from smoking, to eat healthy, to rest appropriately, etc.) and moves into the quality of what her mind experiences.

This is why the role of a prenatal educator is so important to help the mother to be well informed and have the means to bring harmony to her feelings and thoughts. The quality of our future greatly depends on our children’s education, and that education starts in the womb.

Prenatal education is the education a mother transmits to her child from the very beginning, from the months prior to conception until the end of breastfeeding.

No one would question the need to take driving lessons before driving a car. So why not gain the necessary knowledge in order to start a family? This belongs to the field of education. UNICEF affirms that “Children represent our future,” and a prenatal educator concludes: “Our future starts being built before birth!”
